SAME-DAY SHIPPING COMES IN AUGUST

№ 7 · JUL 18 · 2023
The 2023 plan was foam inserts and Amazon fulfilment. Both landed — here is how NoBox ships HomePod stands now, and where the current terms live.
Bundles of white and black NoBox stand posts wrapped and stacked, ready to ship

NoBox now has black and white HomePod speaker stands in stock with no stock-outs anticipated. With our new batch of stock, we are able to ship within a few days of receiving orders.

A carton of black stand bases in clear bags, as they arrive from the fabricator.

The beautiful boxes we send you take about 40 minutes to assemble and pack. Why so long? Because the weight of our solid stands demands additional bulkheads and restraints to be added to the boxes to keep the parts safe in shipping. We pack each box ourselves, and we love the hands-on approach, but we want to be able to scale.

Six boxes open on the floor, each being packed with a base and a paper-wrapped post.

Soon, your NoBox speaker stand will arrive pre-packaged in a sturdy box that includes customized foam inserts. Once we receive these pre-packed boxes, we can send out orders with same-day or next-day shipping!

A sample of the new packaging — moulded foam blocks at each end of the box, holding the stand in place.

The next step we are trying to take is to use Amazon for fulfillment, which will accelerate shipping and let us get back to product development.

Thanks for staying with us on our journey.

Update — how we ship HomePod stands now

Both of those things happened. The foam inserts arrived not long after this post went up, and your stand has travelled in a pre-packed box with cut foam ever since — the 40 minutes of hand-packing above went away, and that is what let us scale. Then we handed fulfilment to Amazon.

The foam insert, and what sits in it

Every order now goes straight to Amazon's fulfilment network, which picks it, packs it and hands it to a carrier. Nothing waits on a person here to release it, and the network runs seven days a week — so a weekend order doesn't sit until Monday. Standard shipping is free, with no minimum.

The only orders we still arrange by hand are the ones going outside the contiguous 48 states, where the cost has to be worked out per parcel. Write to us and we'll sort it out.

Dispatch windows, transit times, carriers, and what happens if a parcel turns up damaged all live on the shipping policy. That is the page we keep current, so that is the one to trust. This post stays as it was written, in July 2023.
